Swati is a Biomedical Engineer having attended the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in Biomechanical Engineering from Heriot Watt University, Scotland and holds a degree in Masters in Biomedical engineering (MSc) from University of Dundee in Scotland, United Kingdom. She has worked for reputed institutions in the Healthcare sector like National Health Service (NHS), UK and National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), India.
She possesses an overall academic and professional experience of 16 years in the field of MedTech and is specialised in Biomedical Engineering Operations, including complex medical products R&D, tests and developing standard operating procedures. Her area of expertise also includes extensive experience in operations, supply chain, product life cycle and project management of medical devices. She is a recipient of the highly prestigious Heriot Watt Scholarship Award, UK for her Ph.D. programme, Young Entrepreneurs Scheme Award and Heriot Watt National Women in Engineering Award, UK. She is also the winner of WES WE50, The Top 50 Women in Engineering 2022 (Inventors & Innovators).
Her international work experience includes working as a Product specialist for an internationally recognised Biomedical manufacturing company called Divlabs Healthcare. As part of the Healthcare Technology Division Team of NHSRC, she has contributed to the “Make in India” goal by preparing a technical report on “Establishment and Operationalisation of Electrical and Electronic Medical Devices Testing Laboratory” in India. Her other publication on “Biomedical Equipment Management and Maintenance Program” aims to assist in delivering quality healthcare in India.
Swati is currently leading the Company Anant Biomedical Ltd. in United Kingdom as the CEO. She holds a firm belief that by blending the power of modern technology with locally invented medical devices and amalgamating academia and industry, healthcare solutions can be provided impacting the global healthcare system in a positive way. Her work as a STEM ambassador lies at the core of what she does and she has the vision of getting young girls and boys into STEM and to help them be the best at it. By actively contributing in the field of STEM, Swati is creating a fairer world where every woman and every man gets an opportunity to join STEM, excel at it, innovate, invent and make a difference!
